The Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort is a residential community that resides within the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Golden Oak was named in tribute to Walt Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch in California. Golden Oak was announced officially on June 23rd, 2010 through the official Disney Parks Blog. The first few home sites became purchasable by late 2010, and the community was officially completed in late 2011. Known as the “the area that lets you live in Disney World” as well as “how the rich do Disney”, Golden Oak is a noticeably upscale area that has proven popular to both residents and visitors alike.
